HOW IT WORKS:

DJs

DJs in Australia and overseas will will be advised via email  and that they can download singles from the site to play on their station. At present we are advising all community stations in Australia. Some of these stations may have 3 or 4 presenters so your music will get to as many people as possible.

DJs must use a code given to them by Oz Country to access this page and download your song. This can then be stored on their play list computers. Even small community stations are operating on mp3  playback systems & most are automated. This way once the songs are downloaded they will always have access to them. Also this will help when multiple DJs are playing country music, it will help get rid of the " I cant find the latest compilation someone must have it or taken it home.." factor.

GENERAL PUBLIC:

The country music public will also be able to access your single but there will be a fee attached. In this way you can finally make money from your single release, the fee that you pay Oz Country for your single could be covered by your single sales. In this way country fans can just download songs they really like and make their own compilations, at all times the artist WINS!!!. You will receive 80c for each download (the rest of the download fee will go to financial institutions and admin costs to Oz Country). This is a HISTORY MAKING event. Of course if a commercial Radio station plays the single you will also receive you APRA royality (provided your song is registered with them and you are an apra member) if you are not a member please go to www.apra.com.au to find out how to become one.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

Every Artist will need to register themselves a paypal account this is so royalties can be paid into your account. Go to www.paypal.com.au. Royalties will be paid at the end of your singles release (8 weeks). This will also result in a TOP 10 COUNTRY SONG CHART that is an actual real indication of the singles progress. This will be posted to DJs and the CMAA, and other significant media outlets.

You will need a current email address as all initial correspondence with Oz Country will be all via email. This will keep our administration costs down. As you can imagine office costs are high and as Oz Country will be offering single release prices at 1/3 of what you are currently paying, costly interstate phone calls will be kept to minimum. You are welcome to ring us but we will correspond with you via email unless an emergency arises.

You will need to provide Oz country with a Bio in Microsoft Word or simply in an email, about the single and yourself, please keep this to 100 words or less as well as 1 photo in jpg format and at 75 dpi. If you have a web site we will also link to that

WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for quality country music. The recording must be of a professional standard. Simply just email your single to us in Mp3 format at 192 birates. If you do not have this facility then send just the single via CD to the below address. We will not return your song unless you provide a stamp self address envelope. No need to send hard cases or artwork just the single.

We are looking to push country to a new audience.

WHEN DOES IT START:

Our first Volume will be going out on January 27th 2006 and then on every 27th two months later. Order of songs will be determined by Oz Country. Payments must be made upon the day of upload We will bill each artist two weeks before the 27th.  Early bird payments will be offered down the track. You can pay via credit card or Paypal or even direct deposit.

WHAT DOES OZ COUNTRY OFFER THAT OTHERS DON'T:

Oz Country for the first time will give the Australian independent artists a chance to make income from single sales. This has never been available to indie artist before. You will have the potential to reach a world wide audience! Imagine if 1000 people around the world downloaded your song. We will also greatly reduce the cost of releasing a single slashing the price by at least 2/3 of what you are currently paying. Artists can also know exactly how many people have listened to their music.

There is also the potential of using the Oz Country's  site as a way for country music fans to access all different Australian country artists work ,no need for a record or distributing deal. We can also link your new video clip to the site or back to your site. So in all ways this just means more exposure for you at a fraction of the cost.
